Congratulations to Mark and Sierra who tied the knot last month on the beach in New Zealand!  It’s summer down under and the perfect time for an outdoor wedding.  Friends and family gathered at Taupo Bay for a small, beautiful ceremony followed by an amazing dinner of fresh seafood and touching speeches by the fathers of the bride and groom.

Halloween is my favorite holiday.  I love getting dressed up and watching everyone unleash their creativity with amazing costumes.  One of my favorites this year is little Penny’s adorable version of  Totoro.  Happy Halloween everybody!

I’ve been eagerly awaiting to announce the opening of the new Portland based online store,  Summerland.   I was happy to provide product photography for this lovely site featuring new and vintage clothing, accessories and jewelry.   With lines like Karen Walker and Dear Creatures (my favorite), Summerland is sure to become a go to for fashionable ladies everywhere!

It’s harvest time in the Columbia River Gorge and the locals are celebrating the amazing apple and pear crops.  Last weekend, my hubby and I drove the 35 mile Hood River Fruit Loop that winds through the Hood River Valley.   It was an amazingly clear, sunny day and we could see Mt. Adams to the north and Mt.  Hood to the south.   We sampled more varieties of apples and pears than I knew existed, shared a slice of homemade apple pie and stopped off for a wine tasting at Wy’ East Vineyard.  The celebrating will continue through the end of the month.

In one hour a week, you can make a big difference in a kid’s life.  This is my third year as a reader with S.M.A.R.T and I cannot say enough good things about this program.  Boise Eliot Elementary in NE Portland is looking for more readers this year.  If you don’t have time every week, consider being a ‘substitute’ reader from time to time.  For more information, take a look at their website http://www.getsmartoregon.org/

Two weeks ago, I had a great time photographing ten month old Sam and his proud parents at their home.  Although he isn’t walking yet, Sam is always on the move and I had to shoot fast to keep up with him.  The results were colorful, bright images that reflect this family’s modern style.

Joe VonAppen is a man of many talents.  Not only is he an actor and performance artist, he is also DJ Hostile Tapeover and one-half of the DJ duo Tiny Vinyl.  Joe came to my studio last week to update his headshot for a local agency that represents acting talent.  He and I  worked together in the past, when Joe portrayed an insomniac for my fine art series ‘Insomnia‘.

Local jewelry designer, Kevia Jeffrey-West and her husband are the proud parents of a baby boy.  This is one of the images we captured just before Ellington was born.  Check out her beautiful handmade jewelry and handbags at Kevia.biz.
